CBSE Board Exams Latest News: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently released the assessment and evaluation practices of the board for the academic session 2021-22. The CBSE has been trying to do away with the model of rote learning present in the contemporary education system of the country. Keeping up with the vision envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020, the CBSE is now focused on developing the creative and critical thinking capacities of students to meet the challenges of the 21st century proactively.

 At present, there are 20 per cent objective questions including MCQs. Case-based, source-based questions comprise of other 20 per cent of the questions. The remaining 60 per cent weightage is given to the long and short answer questions. As per the modified pattern, 30 per cent weightage will be given to competency-based questions. These questions can be MCQs, case-based or source-based. Objective questions will comprise of 20 per cent of the questions and the remaining 50 per cent will be devoted to long and short answer questions. Source: PTI

Change in question pattern for board exam (Class 10 and 12)

As per the existing pattern, 20 per cent weightage is devoted to the objective questions. 10 per cent is devoted to case-based and source-based integrated questions while the remaining 70 per cent are long and short answer questions. This existing pattern will be replaced by the modified pattern, as per which 20 per cent weightage will be allotted to competency-based questions. Another 20 per cent will be devoted to objective questions and the remaining 60 per cent will comprise of the long and short answer questions. Source: PTI
