In view of the threat of Coronavirus, this time the government has celebrated the 'Halwa Ceremony' in a new way before the budget.
Like last year, this time also the budget is to be presented in a paperless manner and after the presentation of the budget in the Parliament, the Union budget will be available on the mobile app.
Sweets distributed to the budget team
The Halva Ceremony, which is to be held before the printing of the budget, was not organized this time. Following Covid-19 protocols, this time the government has performed Halva Ceremony in a symbolic way. The core staff included in the budget team were given sweets instead of Halwa.

Core team will not go to their home
The core staff included in the budget team will not go to their home till the budget process is over. They will remain at the workplace in order to maintain the secrecy of the budget.
Rituals performed earlier
Every year halwa ceremony was held in the last phase of the budget preparation process. But this time due to Corona rules, the rituals of sweet distribution were performed earlier.
Finance Minister to present the budget
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the country's general budget for the fourth time. The budget will be presented in a paperless manner and after being presented in Parliament, the general budget will also be available on the mobile app.
Budget available on the web portal
Along with this, the budget document will also be available on the Union Budget web portal. Finance Minister will present the General Budget on February 1, 2022.
Meeting on 31st Jan
Before the commencement of the Union Budget session, a meeting has been called on 31 January so that the work of Parliament can run smoothly during the session.
