Diesel price in India today down by 6 paisa
Both the fuel products in India saw decline as global crude prices were set to fall this week, with benchmark indices dropping slightly on Friday.
The state-owned oil companies trim down diesel prices by 6 paisa each per litre in various state capital of India today. This is slightly lower in comparison with petrol price which was cut in the range of 8 paisa to 9 paisa per litre. Both the fuel products in India saw decline as global crude prices were set to fall this week, with both benchmarks dropping slightly on Friday. The drop in global crude, as per Reuters report, was due to concerns among investors about rising supply from the US and other nations threatening to undermine efforts by OPEC and other producers to tighten the market.
Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was down by 6 paisa and was available at Rs 62.81 per litre compared to Rs 62.87 per litre of the previous day.
Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, 6 paisa cut was made here as diesel was available at Rs 65.50 per litre against Rs 65.56 per litre of the previous day.
Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel here was valued at Rs 66.89 per litre, lower by 6 paisa versus previous day price of Rs 66.95 per litre.
Diesel price in Chennai: Compared to the above mentioned metro cities, diesel price in Chennai saw a tumble of 6 paisa, and was available at Rs 66.23 per litre from Rs 66.29 per litre of previous day.
Diesel prices in other state capitals: Other cities also saw reduction in their diesel prices. The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 63.87 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 66.34 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 67.38 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 60.97 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 63.45 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 67.71 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 68.24 per litre, Jaipur at Rs 67.28 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 63.29 per litre, Patna at Rs 67.39 per litre, Raipur at Rs 67.86 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 66.14 per litre.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil futures for April delivery fell 3 cents, or 0.1%, to $61.16 a barrel at 0354 GMT, after settling up 23 cents on Thursday. WTI is set to fall 1.4% this week, reversing the previous week`s 1.3% gain.
Brent crude futures trading in London fell 7 cents to $65.05 a barrel after settling up 23 cents. Brent is down 0.7% for the week.
