Meet India's 'Most Trusted Brands' 2019: Dell, Jeep, LIC, Amazon, SBI, iPhone, and more

India's most trusted brands 2019: Laptop-maker Dell has been ranked as India’s most trusted brand in TRA’s Brand Trust Report, 2019. Dell is followed by Jeep in the second position.

TRA’s Brand Trust Report 2019 has been prepared after comprehensive primary research conducted on the 61-Attribute Brand Trust Matrix of TRA.

India's most trusted brands 2019: Laptop-maker Dell has been ranked as India’s most trusted brand in TRA’s Brand Trust Report, 2019. Dell is followed by Jeep in the second position. Jeep is also the "Most Trusted Automobile Brand of India" this year, according to the report which was released in New Delhi on Tuesday. The third and fourth-ranked brands are LIC and Amazon, followed by Apple iPhone on the fifth position. Apple's iPhone has gone up by 116 ranks from the 2018 list and also emerged as the "Most Trusted Brand" in the mobile phone-series.

On the sixth spot on the list for 2019 is Samsung, followed by LG Televisions on the 7th. LG is also the leader in the Consumer Electronics Super-Category. Aviva Life Insurance, Maruti Suzuki and State Bank of India occupy the 8th, 9th and 10th ranks in the list of "Most Trusted Brands" of 2019.

TRA’s Brand Trust Report 2019 has been prepared after comprehensive primary research conducted on the 61-Attribute Brand Trust Matrix of TRA, Sachin Bhonsle, Research Director at TRA Research, told Zee Business Online. The study involved 15,000 hours of fieldwork, covering 2,315 consumer-influencers across 16 cities in India, and generated 5 million data points and 9,000 unique brands, from which the top 1000 brands have been listed in this year’s report.

Explaining more about how the report was prepared, Bhonsle told Zee Business Online, "When we conducted these interviews across 16 cities, there were 61 attributes on which we measured the brand trust. For every attribute, we have asked the names of three brands from respondents."

For example: Suppose, we ask you to name the brand which is competitive. If you name Dell or Maruti or, maybe Tata, then our next question would be - Since you said Dell - What do you mean by Dell? Then you may reply Dell Laptops, or Dell Technology or Dell Desktop, Bhonsle explained.

"Similarly, we ask for specific categories. When all this data comes to us, we put it inside this report. If 2300 people are responding to 61 attributes, that itself, gives us a unique list of 1000s of brands. A list of around 7000 brands have come up this year. Of all these brands, Dell is leading," he said.

Indian Statistical Institute was TRA’s statistical partner for the research methodology.

Tata brands dominate

The largest number of brands in the Most Trusted list are from the Tata Group (23) . Godrej has 15 brands, Amul has 11 and Samsung is represented in eight Categories. LG, Honda, Cadbury’s, Nestle, Parle and Dabur are represented by seven brands each. Dabur's brands are leaders in each of the Categories represented.
