Although India still lags behind in creating jobs in various regions and certain categories, yet it does mean the country does not give you a very happening salary! A salary study by LinkedIn revealed that, hardware & networking, software and consumer sectors are the highest salary paying industries in India.
When we talk about IT sector, then it would not be wrong to say that one city name will surely roll in the back of your mind for giving heavy salaries. Yes, it is the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru that pays highest salary in the country.
As per the study, it is known that, in Bengaluru an average total compensation per year stands over Rs 11,67,337 , followed by Mumbai with compensation of Rs 9,03,929 per year.

Meanwhile Delhi-NCR takes the third spot with compensation of Rs 8,99,486 which is just few rupees away from Mumbai.
LinkedIn India products head Ajay Datta said, "In India's competitive jobs market, LinkedIn Salary will help create salary transparency and empower our members with reliable data on what companies are paying today, what kind of compensation packages to expect, and how salaries vary as per industries and educational qualifications," reported in IANS.
Taking the fourth and fifth spot, were Hyderabad and Chennai with compensation of Rs 8,45,574 and Rs 6,30,920 per year respectively.
In terms of highest paying sectors, then that would be hardware & networking with nearly Rs 15 lakh as average compensation, followed by software & IT services with over Rs 12 lakh, consumer goods with over Rs 9.95 lakh, healthcare with Rs 9.60 lakh, finance with Rs 9.47 lakh.
Other sectors average compensation were - corporate services with Rs 9.37 lakh, construction with Rs 8.30 lakh, manufacturing with Rs 8.14 lakh, real estate with Rs 7.83 lakh and media & communications with Rs 7.15 lakh.
