LIC Online Policy Purchase: You may have felt hassled by the ever-persistent humble LIC agents at least once in life. In the digital age, the good old Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has found a solution for you. Now, you can buy LIC policies online in a few clicks and also enjoy special benefits on offer. There are several benefits of buying LIC policies online. The LIC official website explains: "For a customer who is comfortable using the internet and has some experience of having made an online purchase, buying life insurance online is an easy and a logical option. It's fast, easy and secure - just fill in the details and make the payment through Internet Banking. Apart from the convenience, online policy is also cheaper than the offline version as online rebate is also available." 

You can get a discount on buying several policies online, including LIC Jeevan Shanti, LIC Jeevan Akshay VI, LIC Cancer Cover, LIC E-Term, and LIC Navjeevan. The online discount is not applicable to Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana.

For buying LIC Jeevan Shanti Policy, you can get "Rebate of 2% by way of increase in the basic annuity rate will be available." LIC Jeevan Shanti is a pension plan with the option of purchasing both Immediate and Deferred annuity. This policy can be purchased only by paying a lump sum amount. LIC Jeevan Shanti also provides for annuity payments of a stated amount throughout the lifetime of the annuitant, says the LIC website. Subscribers also enjoy the option of surrendering the policy under specified options and claim loan under the policy.

On LIC Jeevan Akshay Plan, an online rebate of 1% by way of increase in the basic annuity rate is available. LIC Jeevan Akshay plan is an immediate pension plan. You can purchase the plan by paying a lump sum amount. It also provides for annuity payments of a stated amount throughout the life-time of the annuitant. LIC Jeevan Akshay does not acquire any paid-up value. Unline Jeevan Shanti plan, Jeevan Akshay has no surrender value. Also, no loan is available under the policy.
