BMW M 1000 R launched in India: BMW Motorrad India has launched the BMW M 1000 R in the Indian market on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Being a performance superbike, the motorcycle will likely appeal only to niche customers, evident from the fact that BMW has chosen not to assembl it in India, but is importing it in the Completely Built-Up (CBU) form. Enthusiasts can begin booking the BMW M 1000 R now, with deliveries set to commence in January 2024.
BMW M 1000 R: Price
BMW M 1000 R is priced starting Rs 33 lakh (ex-showroom). As the superbike is imported through the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route, it is taxed on the higher side.
The bike is available in two variants — Standard and Competition, that are priced at Rs 33 lakh and Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW M 1000 R: Design
The BMW M 1000 R showcases ultra-compact and new M Winglets at the front. The M Carbon wheels now feature a clear lacquer coat and the front mudguards integrate brake ducts for improved airflow around the fork legs and brake calipers.
BMW M 1000 R: M Competition Package
It is clad in the Black storm metallic / M Motorsport color scheme and includes M Carbon wheels and M rider footrest system.
It also features M Carbon components like the rear wheel cover and chain guard, front wheel cover, tank covers, airbox cover with tapes, wind deflector, sprocket cover, the M pillion package, M pillion cover, and a milled, fully adjustable M rider footrest system.
BMW M 1000 R: Power and Performance
The BMW M 1000 R is powered by a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine with a 999-cc capacity. It delivers 212 hp (156 kW) at 14,500 rpm, with peak torque of 113 Nm achieved at 11,000 rpm. The bike accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of 280 km/h.
BMW M 1000 R: Features
The BMW M 1000 R comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display instrument cluster, featuring an M logo startup animation, a redesigned rev counter, and an OBD interface for M GPS Datalogger and M GPS Lap trigger.
Other features include a lightweight M battery, rear USB charging socket, powerful LED light units, adaptive turning lights, electronic cruise control, and heated grips.
