Tata Motors introduces automatic transmission in Tiago and Tigor CNG variants: Check booking price, engine specs

Tata Motors has introduced Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cars. Tata Motors has recently opened bookings for the Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT models — which will be the first automatic CNG vehicles in the country.

The introduction of Twin Cylinder CNG technology is aimed at addressing the longstanding challenge of limited boot space in CNG cars. By doing so, Tata Motors is venturing into uncharted territory, setting a trend by blending automatic transmission with CNG-powered vehicles.

Interested customers can now book their preferred model by visiting Tata Motors' authorized dealerships or through online channels, with a booking amount of Rs 21,000.

Notably, the CNG industry has witnessed significant growth, with a reported 40.5 per cent increase in FY24 compared to the previous fiscal year.
