Tata Passenger Electric Mobility plans to roll out over 5 EVs in next 18 months
The company on Friday said the 'Punch.Ev', the electric version of its compact SUV Punch, will be the first product based on its first pure EV architecture, acti.Ev.
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) is set to broaden its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with over five products within the next 18 months, all built on the innovative acti.Ev platform.
The initial offering, 'Punch.Ev,' an electric version of the compact SUV Punch, will showcase the capabilities of this first-of-its-kind pure EV architecture.
TPEM emphasizes that the acti.Ev platform will serve as the foundation for forthcoming products in its portfolio, promising diverse options in terms of body styles and sizes. In a promotional video, the company has expressed its ambitious plan to unveil "five-plus products in the next 18 months."

Anand Kulkarni, Chief Products Officer and Head of HV Programs and Customer Service at TPEM, highlighted the meticulous design of the acti.Ev architecture, emphasizing its commitment to achieving class-leading efficiencies, optimal space utilization, and enhanced battery capacity for an exceptional driving experience.
The platform is positioned as a globally adaptable and forward-looking pure electric architecture, incorporating software-oriented features to ensure technological advancement and future-proofing of the vehicles.
Key features of the acti.Ev platform include a carefully crafted battery pack design, offering a variety of range options from 300 km to 600 km. The platform supports front, rear, and all-wheel drives, providing flexibility to cater to different consumer preferences.
Moreover, it is equipped with a versatile charging system, with onboard chargers ranging from 7.2 kW to 11 kW for AC fast charging and DC fast charging capabilities of up to 150 kW, enabling a swift addition of approximately 100 km range in just 10 minutes.
In terms of safety, TPEM assures that the architecture is capable of accommodating multiple body styles while maintaining a reinforced body structure that meets future safety protocols such as Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP.
Additionally, the platform is positioned as future-ready for advanced driver assistance systems up to level two.
TPEM has already initiated online bookings for the Punch.Ev, requiring a downpayment of Rs 21,000, showcasing its commitment to advancing the electric mobility landscape with innovative and consumer-friendly solutions.
