Year Ender 2021: Important car launches that gave momentum to auto industry
Owning a car is a dream of many. In fact, who doesn't want to own a four-wheeled driving machine. The year 2021 saw a number car of launches - ranging from budget ones to ultra luxury models. Here is the list of some of the important and interesting cars launched in the year 2021 and gave a momentum to the India automobile industry:-
MG Astor
MG Motor India launched the mid-size SUV MG Astor with India’s first personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous (Level 2) technology, at a special introductory price of Rs. 9.78 Lakh. With cutting-edge technology and design excellence, Astor is positioned in the premium mid-size SUV segment. Customers can choose between variants starting from Style, going up to Super, Smart, and the top-of-the-line Sharp.
Mahindra XUV700
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., on 14th Aug took the wraps off the all-new XUV700 (pronounced as XUV, 7 double ‘Oh’), marking a brand-new era for the company. The XUV700 comes in variants that include diesel and gasoline, manual and automatic options and with 5 and 7-Seater capacity. It will also be available in an optional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) spec.
Maruti Celerio
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) announced the launch of its much-awaited compact hatchback – stylish All-New Celerio. India’s most fuel-efficient petrol car*, the All-New Celerio offers a stellar mileage of 26.68 km/l**. Powered by next-generation Dual Jet, Dual VVT K-Series engine with Idle Start-Stop technology, it offers a spirited drive experience.
Tata Punch
Tata Motors had unveiled India’s first sub-compact SUV, the Tata PUNCH. The latest addition to Tata Motor’s popular ‘New Forever’ range of cars and SUVs, the PUNCH reinforces the four core pillars that define all Tata SUVs - Stunning Design, Versatile and Engaging Performance, Roomy and Spacious Interiors, and Absolute Safety.
Force Gurkha
Pune-based automotive major Force Motors revealed that the ex-showroom price of the much-awaited All-New Gurkha 2021 is Rs.13,59,000. Built on a ground-up modular architecture platform the Gurkha 2021 is a completely new vehicle with only the iconic G-Wagen inspired silhouette carried forward from the previous generation.
Mahindra Bolero Neo
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched the newest member in its Bolero SUV portfolio - the new Bolero Neo. Mahindra Bolero Neo is launched at an introductory price of Rs 8.48 lakh (ex-showroom price, all over India) for the N4 variant. It will be available at Mahindra dealerships starting July 13, 2021.
Renault Kiger
Renault, which is in its 10th year of operations in India, had announced a special feat achieved by its new sub-four metre compact SUV, KIGER. Powered by a world-class turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine KIGER not only offers more performance and a sporty drive, but also boasts best in segment fuel efficiency of 20.5 KM/L, as per the ARAI Testing Certification.
Tata Safari
The much anticipated, all-new Tata Safari was launched in India, with introductory prices starting at Rs 14.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Land Rover Defender
Land Rover India had launched its new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Defender in India. The company had launched this SUV in two variants – Defender 90 and Defender 110. The Defender is available at starting price of Rs 73.98 lakhs.
Kia Carens
Kia Corporation launched the Carens during a world premiere event in India. The Kia Carens offers both petrol and diesel powertrains combined with multiple transmission options, including the 7DCT and 6AT. The Kia Carens will be available in India as well as selected markets starting from the first quarter of 2022.
