Airtel offer: In past one year, the Indian telecom market was all about free and unlimited calls, unlimited internet packs and many other data offers, thanks to Reliance Jio’s entry in the sector. Now, it looks like the next big battle can emerge in regards to ‘VoLTE’, with latest one being Bharti Airtel, which is all set to launch its VoLTE services in India. For stirring up competition, RJio, which already uses VoLTE, has forced other telcos to move towards this technology that is known for providing more clarity on calls, internet pack, etc. Interestingly to take on RJio, Airtel through it’s VoLTE services is also offering free 30GB data in 3G/4G internet services. However, Airtel is not alone, even Idea Cellular and Vodafone have stepped into this technology.
On it’s website, the company has mentioned that, Airtel VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is an advanced service through which customers can experience HD quality crystal clear voice with faster call setup time. While using VoLTE services, users can continue to have uninterrupted high-speed 4G internet experience.
Currently, the Airtel VoLTE services are available only in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka, Chennai & West Bengal.

Coming back to RJio, the company when entered telecom market, it’s highlight was 4G-only network, with support for VoLTE. However, things have changed, as the rivals have also learned the games of RJio by offering cheap and heavy data to customers.
Airtel, Idea and Vodafone offer the high-speed mobile data using 3G / 4G network. However, this is not the case of RJio, as 2G/3G spectrum is unavailable, so all calls go through 4G VoLTE on RJio.
VoLTE which is know as Voice over Long Term Evolution, is referred to voice over internet protocol or IP-based LTE network. Thus, the technology allows users to make voice calls over LTE. It enables high definition (HD) voice calling.
