Amazon, Flipkart gear up for Republic Day sales; up to 80% off on smartphone brands

E-commerce majors ready themselves for upcoming Republic Day sales. Deals include up to 80% off on mobile brands and fashion.

Its Flipkart versus Amazon again as we near Republic Day celebrations. The e-commerce websites have announced their sale dates and a host of deals on smartphones, electronics and fashion apparel.

Amazon announced its Great Indian Sale from January 21 to January 24. However, prime members will get a 12 hours early access to the sale beginning from January 20, 12 noon.

Flipkart has now announced its Republic Day sale from January 21-23.

Flipkart has announced deals on smartphones, electronics and fashion with up to 80% off.

Amazon on the other hand has promised deals on popular brands, fast on-time delivery and easy returns. Over 160 million products across hundreds of categories will be on sale on Amazon.

“The Amazon Great Indian Sale will have irresistible deals across a wide a range of products in categories including smartphones, consumer electronics, fashion, home & kitchen, large appliances, sports & fitness among others. With big deals, extra cashback, no cost EMI and convenient exchange options, this sale will help customers buy their desired product and still save money.” said Manish Tiwary, Vice President - Category Management, Amazon India.

Deals on Amazon will include discounts on brands like Apple, OnePlus, Samsung, 10.or, UCB, Puma, Adidas, Wrangler, Titan, Marks & Spencer, American Tourister, Vero Moda, BPL, Micromax, TCL, Lenovo, HP, IFB, Bosch, D’Décor, Philips, Lakme, Pampers, LG, Whirlpool, Bajaj, Prestige, Usha, McAfee and Kaspersky among others.

Customers shopping with Amazon Pay balance will get extra 10% cashback up to Rs 200 on all purchases above Rs 250.

On top of which, HDFC Bank is offering customers an additional cashback of 10% when they pay with Debit and Credit Card and on EMI.

Flipkart listed the following deals in its forthcoming sale.

Up to 60% off on laptops, camera and other electronic accessories
50-80% off on clothing, footwear, jewellery and other fashion products
Up to 70% off on TVs and home appliances
40-80% of home furnishing, decor and furniture
Up to 70% off on beauty products, books and sports merchandise

Flipkart is also offering 10% cashback on payments made through Citibank credit & debit cards.
