Idea Cellular unveils new Rs 159 prepaid pack, offers 1GB data daily; Is it better than RJio, Vodafone, Airtel

It's a era of extensive tariff plans, and this time it would be Idea Cellular who has declared a war against other telcos like Vodafone, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio by launching a new prepaid recharge pack. Idea's new plan priced at Rs 159 takes on rivals similar recharges giving 1GB data per day for nearly a month period. This offer also comes during the Diwali festival, where telcos like Airtel and Vodafone are trying to lure customers while keeping in check with competition stirred by RJio.

The new Rs 159 recharge pack of Idea gives 1GB data per day for a period of 28 days. This pack also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 100 SMS per day.

This new pack of Idea competes directly with Vodafone and Airtel's Rs 159 recharge pack each. However, on the other hand, RJio does not have same price recharge pack, but instead much lower one of Rs 149.

Vodafone's Rs 159 pack also gives 1GB data on daily basis, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days. However, the Vodafone's unlimited calling offer comes with a cap of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.

Going ahead, Airtel is giving unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day. However, the company gives a total 1GB data for 21 days periods. This means there is no daily data given by Airtel and also the validity period is less than what Vodafone and Idea are offering.

Idea definitely outruns Airtel, however, still isn't better to what RJio is offering. It needs to be noted that, there are no plan offered by RJio which gives 1GB data on daily basis. RJio's minimum daily data pack is at 1.5GB.

Hence, RJio gives 1.5GB data on daily basis in 4G network including unlimited voice calls and SMS 100 per day at just Rs 149 for 28 days period.

RJio surely has maintain its mark and continues to disrupt the telecom market with its heavy data and cheap recharge packs.
