Maruti Suzuki’s 30% growth in September its highest ever domestic car sales
The Ciaz and the Vitara Brezza continued to power the sales of the largest auto maker in the country during September.
Maruti Suzuki’s saw a nearly 30% growth in its domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales in September. This was not only the highest ever total sales in September for the company, but also the highest ever domestic monthly sales it had seen, the company said in a release.
The total domestic PV sales rose by 29.4% as it sold 1,37,277 units in September 2016 as compared to 1,06,083 units in the same month last year. Total sales including exports registered a 31.1% growth.
The Ciaz and the Vitara Brezza continued to power the sales of the largest auto maker in the country during September. While Ciaz posted a massive 52.5% growth during the month, its sales rose to 6,544 units from 4,291 units in the same period last year. The utility vehicle segment led by Vitara Brezza registered a 191% growth as the segment sales jumped to 18,423 units in September 2016 from 6,331 units in the same month last year.

The Dzire Tour was the next highest selling car of the company during the month posting a growth of 23%. The company sold 3,973 units during the month from 3,229 units in the corresponding month last year.
The Mini segment consisting of the Alto and WagonR too posted good sales growth of 24.8%. Sales rose to 44,395 units during September 2016 from 35,570 units during the corresponding month last year.
The van segment saw a 15.1% growth with sales rising to 13,618 units from 11,863 units last year.
