Vodafone takes on RJio with new recharge pack, offers 4GB data at Rs 279; Is it better?

The telecom service provider Vodafone is prepping to take on Reliance Jio with aggressive prices when it comes to offering unlimited calls and data. The company recently launched back-to-back low-budgeted plans. The latest ones are Rs 279, followed by another prepaid pack of Rs 189. It can be said that Vodafone is targeting customers who want to have benefits for longer term at cheaper rate. However, the Rs 279 pack is very interesting compared to what RJio is offering. Yet, the Mukesh Ambani led company outruns when it comes to luring customer with heavy data.
New Vodafone Rs 279 recharge pack has a validity period of 84 days, according to a TelecomTalk report. It is said to offer unlimited voice calls and SMS messages to their subscribers.
For Rs 279, Vodafone gives overall 4GB data for 84 days in 3G/4G network. There is FUP limit of 250 minutes daily and 1,000 minutes per week on calls.

The offer is available for circles like Karnataka and Mumbai.
However, the plan lacks when it comes to provide heavy data, in which RJio maintains leadership at dirt cheap rates.
There are two data packs of Reliance Jio which are available for period of 84 days. Firstly, the Rs 399 prepaid plan, where RJio gives 1.5GB data on daily basis in 4G network aggregating up to 126GB data overall period.
Secondly, there is Rs 448 recharge pack, where RJio gives 2GB data per day in 4G network for a period of 84 days. Overall the plan gives a massive 168GB data.
Apart from this, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day offered on both plans. There is also complimentary subscription given on Jio Apps.
In line with Rs 279 pack, Vodafone also launched a Rs 189 recharge pack, where it is giving a daily FUP limit. A Vodafone customer can have up to 250 minutes daily and 1000 minutes per week of calls. Once the limit is exchanged, Vodafone will start to charge users at 1 paisa per second. The company is offering overall 2GB in 3G/4G network as part of the plan.
