COVID-19 Restrictions in Delhi: Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has taken certain important decision at a meeting on Monday. Lieutenant Governor of Delhi chaired the DDMA meeting.

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi tweeted from his official Twitter handle, "Chaired the 31st meeting of DDMA to review the COVID-19 situation in Delhi along with Hon'ble CM @ArvindKejriwal , Hon’ble DyCM @msisodia , Hon’ble Ministers @SatyendarJain & @kgahlot , Dr VK Paul-NITIAayog, Chief Secretary, Prof Balram Bhargava-ICMR, Dr Randeep Guleria-AIIMS, Dr SK Singh-NCDC & other senior officials. Reviewed the status of testing, positivity rate, hospital bed utilization, vaccination and home isolation etc."

The following decisions have been taken after the DDMA meeting:

1) It has been decided to close the restaurants and bars

2) The restaurants and bars will only provide take away and will not be allowed to sit and eat

3) It has been decided to open the same weekly market one day in a zone

4) The people are being instructed to strictly follow masks and social dispensing in markets and public places

5) The Health Department has been advised to provide additional manpower in hospitals

While addressing a press conference on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal informed that there is no plan to impose lockdown as of now. He said that lockdown can be avoided if people wear masks.

On Sunday, the Delhi Chief Minister also said, "Our attempt is to impose minimum restrictions so livelihoods are not affected."

India recorded 1,79,723 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, as per the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Monday.

As on Monday 4,033 Omicron variant cases have been reported in India as per the press release from the MoHFW.
