Delhi airport comes up with detailed plan for post-lockdown scenario -: All you need to know

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is set to resume operations after the lockdown and has come up with a detailed plan that will soon come into effect. The plan includes several measures to ensure that COVID-19 is not spread. Passengers are mandated to wear a mask at all times.

Here is all you must know about it –

A contactless terminal entry system is put in place at entries to avoid any possible contact between the CISF personnel and the PAX. Social distancing markers will be made at the terminal entry points and automated thermal cameras will be installed at all entry points of the terminal.

The airport also plans to ensure social distancing around check-in counters, CUSS machines and SBD. To enable frequent sanitization of hands by passengers, ‘Hygiene Stations’ being set up with automatic hand sanitizers in Check-In halls. Acrylic glass shields will be placed on the check-in counters with boarding pass & bag tag printers reoriented towards pax for contactless check-in, bag drop & document collection.

The security personnel will be provided with HAZMAT suits. Frequent sanitisation will be done for trays, DFMDs, HHMDs and the monitors used during the security check. The airport says that it has also implemented social distancing in all the lounges including Plaza Premium Lounge.

All luggage trolleys will undergo sanitisation by passing through a sanitization tunnel before returning to their respective locations. There will be queue managers and social distance marking at all the gates to ensure that social distancing guidelines are strictly followed.
