The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) celebrated the 71st Constitution Day on Thursday by organizing an All India Webinar. The Webinar was led by Justice P.P. Bhatt, President, ITAT.
The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) celebrated the 71st Constitution Day on Thursday by organizing an All India Webinar. The Webinar was led by Justice P.P. Bhatt, President, ITAT.
Justice P.P. Bhatt is of the view that it is the time to express gratitude and foresight to constitution makers. He said "Our constitution makers set our targets in the Preamble. Preamble talks about securing all its citizens justice, social, economic and political, LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship."
Justice Bhatt further said that 'This day we are reminded of our duty to the great nation. Our constitution has stood the test of time. The constitutional ideas dominate agenda of the current govt".

He was also proud of ITAT as it's actions resonate Article 51. ITAT has developed scientific practices in according to the fundamental duty and pursued excellence by delivering justice. He was also proud of ITAT as it made the best of the resources during the pandemic
Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General who was also a part of the Webinar was of the view that constitution makers had the vision and problem solving capacity in their mind. Relevance of constitution goes beyond legal terms.
He said, "Important part of Indian constitution is separation of power. Election process is the most transparent in the world. All three wings stood by people of India during the pandemic.
He further said, "Central govt took charge, PM worked with all CMs everyday. Indian Judiciary is the only judiciary in the world to not close even for a day during the pandemic
Anoop Kumar Mendiratta, Law Secretary said, "Constitution remains a vibrant document. The country owes the success of democratic institutions to the constitution. SC worked during Covid which was tremendous. Need to associate with the spirit of the constitution."
