Income tax payers beware! Cyber criminals are trying their best to dupe you of your money by sending SMS, WhatsApp messages. Innocent netizens and mobile users have lost huge amounts to these cyber crimes. However, every citizen must thank the Income-Tax department as its officials have become very active on social media after realising the big threat these fraudsters pose and taking action promptly - these officials try their level best to make citizens aware of the cyber criminals' activities and here is a sterling example.
One such shocking case came to light when a social media user asked Income-Tax dept a question about the authenticity of the message he received in the name of the department about a tax refund. Check details of the case and save yourself, don't make this mistake as falling into the trap of cyber criminals can be very costly:-
A Twitter user asked, "@IncomeTaxIndia Important Alert! Dear xxxxxxxx, the lncometax_Department requires you to click the link below to submit a formal request for the payment of your unclaimed and overdue tax-refund of xx,xxx INR. http://151.80.90.62/ITRefund Is it authentic?"

"I have received the above message. When I click on the link provided, some foreign website shows up. I wanted to ensure whether it is authentic or a sham?," the user posted in another tweet.
"The message sender is BZ-ITDEPL," the user's revealed via yet another tweet.
