Mumbai airport flight delays: Rain-hit Jet Airways gives waiver to passengers; check your travelling status here
Jet Airways has guided passengers to check their flight status, if they have missed out.
Heavy showers have taken down Mumbai’s speedy spirit. Today almost everything right from railways, airlines to roads are operating slow. Mumbai which is India’s major financial hub, witnessed heavy rains in early hours of Tuesday. Within few hours many places are filled with water logging, even there are news of a bridge collapsing at Andheri station. This has hampered the travelling public to a massive extent. Mumbai police have been directing people about their travelling routes for their convenience. The heavy rains in this city will be continued for another 48 hours. Thereby, private carrier Jet Airways has taken measures for passengers by waiving of penalties and charges if they have missed their flights. They have guided passengers to check their flight status if they have missed any. Also, the airline has decided to accommodate delayed passengers due to the bridge collapse.
Jet Airways through their Twitter handle said, “#9Wupdate: Due to heavy rains in #Mumbai, we’ve issued a waiver on penalties for date/flight change, refund, no-show (including fare difference if any), on all confirmed tickets for flights operating to and from Mumbai for 3rd July, 2018.”
The airline explains that, due to air traffic congestion in #Mumbai consequent to heavy rains, arrival & departure delays of up to 30 mins are expected at Mumbai airport until 1500 hrs.
