Mumbai airport flight status: In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Sunday, Mumbai recorded extremely heavy rains to the tune of 231 mm.
Mumbai airport flight status: Heavy rains have always been a setback for India’s financial hub Mumbai. This city’s major regions including business areas stop in their tracks every time massive showers happen. Airlines are among the first to face hurdles in their operations during times of heavy Mumbai rains. Today was no different, as airlines like Jet Airways and Vistara have already issued a notice warning passengers over delay in flights. In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Sunday, Mumbai recorded extremely heavy rains to the tune of 231 mm.
Jet Airways through it’s Twitter account said, “#9Wupdate: Air traffic congestion in #Mumbai. Arrival & departure delays of up to 30 minutes are expected at Mumbai airport till 1600 hrs.”

Meanwhile, Vistara also warned passengers about water logging at the airport, which impacts the operation today.
Vistara says, “#TravelUpdate Due to heavy rains at Mumbai, traffic congestion on Mumbai airport road is expected due water logging. Customers travelling from Mumbai are advised to allow more time for their journey to the Airport.”

In Mumbai, massive rains were seen in Dahanu at 226 mm, followed by Thane 170 mm, Matheran 155 mm, Alibag 150 mm, Ratnagiri 96 mm, Harnai 54 mm and Mahabaleshwar recorded 47 mm of rains.
As many 68 flights have been delayed affecting 35 departures and as many as 33 arrivals. This applied just to those flights set to arrive or depart by noon. Those who have booked themselves on flights today should find out is their plane is still scheduled to take off. If yes, then they should ensure they leave well in advance as a huge traffic jam has also hit the area near the domestic airport.
For now only Jet Airways and Vistara have issued notice in regards to Mumbai rains. Other airlines like Air India, SpiceJet and Indigo are yet to make a statement.
