The rupee recovered by 7 paise to 66.45 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters amid sustained foreign fund inflows.
Besides, weakness in the dollar against other currencies overseas supported the rupee, forex dealers said.
The rupee had lost 8 paise to close at 66.52 against the US dollar on Thursday on month-end demand for the American currency from importers despite a lower greenback overseas.
The benchmark Bombay Stock Exchange's (BSE) Sensex was quoting lower by 55.65 points, or 0.21%, to 25,547.45 in early trade.
