During his short visit, the two countries will hold intensive talks at various levels in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Putin will meet for the 21st round of Indo-Russia Summit.

Zee Business reporter Ambarish Pandey reported that the talks between President Putin and PM Modi will also seal the joint production agreement of the AK-203 assault rifle. Under this, more than 5 lakh AK-203 advanced rifles are to be produced in Amethi, India. Furthermore, the link to arms deals will also talk about S400 missile system. According to sources, the 2018 deal between the two countries requires clarity on some other issues including delivery schedules.
The meeting between the will be held at Hyderabad House in Delhi at 5:30 pm. There will also be a session of direct and informal talks between the two leaders. In view of the concerns raised by the Omicron variant of Corona and the COVID Protocol, the number of officials in the talks between the two countries has also been restricted. Putin will also leave at around 9:30 PM
on Monday.
According to the External Affairs Ministry, the first 2+2 talks between the two countries will be to advance the special global partnership between India and Russia during the summit. The joint meeting of foreign and Defence ministers was decided during a phone conversation between PM Modi and President Putin in April 2021. The Defence ministers of India and Russia will attend the Inter-Governmental Group meeting on Military and Technical Cooperation, while the Foreign Ministers of the two countries will also meet in parallel at the same time, after which the Defence and Foreign Ministers of the two countries will pursue the plans for partnership on the 2+2 negotiating table.
