"Session for historic decisions" PM Modi ahead of special session of Parliament
PM Modi said that all decisions of the time to make India a developed country by 2047 will be taken in the new Parliament building.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the special session of Parliament will witness “historic decisions.”
The five-day special session of Parliament began at 11 am today.
Before that, addressing mediapersons outside Parliament, PM Modi said that all decisions of the time to make India a developed country by 2047 will be taken in the new Parliament building.

The session today will be held in the old Parliament building, and MPs will move into the building on September 19, the second day of the special session.
"At this time, we all are feeling an atmosphere of enthusiasm and a new confidence in the entire country. At the same time, this session of Parliament is taking place.
This session is short, but in terms of time, it is very big.
This is a session of historic decisions.
A speciality of this session is that the journey of 75 years is starting from a new destination," he said.
"Now, while taking forward the journey from a new place, we have to make the country a developed country by 2047. For this, all thesepte decisions will be taken in the new Parliament building," he added.
The Prime Minister further urged all the members to contribute effectively in this session, leaving old problems behind and bringing new goods to this new house.
"I urge all the respected MPs that there is a short session. They should spend maximum time here with zeal and enthusiasm,” he said adding there will be "a lot of time to cry later."
“Rone dhone ke liye bahut samay hota hai, karte rahiye. There are a few moments in life which fill you with enthusiasm and faith. I look at this short session like that," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "Tomorrow, on Ganesh Chaturthi, we will move to the new Parliament. Lord Ganesha is also known as 'Vighnaharta', now there will be no obstacles in the development of the country.
'Nirvighna roop se saare sapne saare sankalp Bharat paripoorn karega'...This session of Parliament may be short, but it is historic in scope."
Praising the success of the Chandrayaan 3 mission, the Prime Minister said that the Shiv Shakti Point has become a new centre of inspiration.
"Chandrayaan-3 has hoisted our Tiranga on the Moon. Shiv Shakti Point has become a new centre of inspiration, and Tiranga Point is filling us with pride."
"Across the world, when such an achievement is made, it is viewed by linking it to modernity, science and technology. When this capability comes before the world, several opportunities and possibilities knock at the doors of India," the prime minister said.
On August 23, India took a giant leap as the Chandrayaan-3 lander module successfully landed on the moon's South Pole, making it the first country to have achieved the historic feat and bringing to an end the disappointment over the crash landing of the Chandrayaan-2, four years ago.
India became the fourth country – after the US, China, and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon's surface.
On the successful conclusion of the G20 Summit headed by India, the Prime Minister said "India will always be proud that we became the voice of the Global South during the G20 Summit and that the African Union became a permanent member of the G20.
All this is a signal of India's bright future.
'YashoBhoomi' an international convention centre was also dedicated to the country yesterday," the Prime Minister said.
Members of the INDIA bloc parties have decided to participate in the special session of Parliament which is underway and will raise important issues, according to sources.
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Parliament to attend the special five-day session of the Parliament.
Parliamentary proceedings that are underway in the old Parliament building will shift to the adjacent new state-of-the-art building on September 19.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended his congratulations to all Indians for the successful hosting of the G20 Summit and said India has been the voice of the Global South and under the leadership of PM Modi.
He appreciated PM Modi's vision of dedicating the Summit to the citizens of India, highlighting the people-centric approach of India's G20 presidency. Birla emphasised that this approach will chart a new course for the nation in the coming decades.
"I want to congratulate each and every Indian for the successful organisation of the G20 Summit.
I also appreciate PM Modi's vision to dedicate this Summit to the people of the country.
India's presidency of the G20 has been people-centric and in the coming decades, it will give us a new direction. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the New Delhi declaration was unanimously accepted by the leaders of the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said on that the achievements of Indians are being discussed everywhere and this is the result of united efforts during the 75 years of the history of the country's Parliament.
Initiating the discussion on 'Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories and learnings' in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said that the success of Chandrayaan-3 has not only made India but the world proud.
“This has highlighted a new form of India's strength which is connected to technology, science, potential of our scientists and the strength of the 140 crore people in the country,” he said.
The Prime Minister also referred to the Parliament shifting to the new building from Tuesday, the second day of the Special Session of Parliament, which will continue till September 22.
“All of us are saying goodbye to this historic building. Before independence, this House was the place for the Imperial Legislative Council. After independence, this gained the identity of Parliament House,” he said.
“It is true that the decision to construct this building was taken by foreign rulers but we can never forget and can proudly say that the toil, the hard work and the money that went into the construction was that of my countrymen," he added.
The Prime Minister also referred to the success of the G20 Summit held in the national capital earlier this month.
"Today, the achievements of all Indians are being discussed everywhere. This is the result of our united efforts during the 75 years of the history of our Parliament."

Prime Minister Narendra then recalled the emotional moment of his entering the Parliament as an MP for the first time in 2014, saying he bowed down to honour the temple of democracy and could have never imagined that a child belonging to a poor family would be able to enter the Parliament.
Initiating the discussion on the 'Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories and learnings' in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister also referred to the Parliament shifting to the new building on Tuesday and said “bidding goodbye to this building is an emotional moment”.
The Prime Minister said that many bitter-sweet memories are associated with the Parliament building.
"Bidding goodbye to this building is an emotional moment...Many bitter-sweet memories have been associated with it. We have all witnessed differences and disputes in the Parliament but at the same time, we have witnessed 'Parivaar bhaav',” he said.
"When I first entered this building (Parliament) as an MP, I bowed down and honoured the temple of democracy. It was an emotional moment for me."
"I could have never imagined that a child belonging to a poor family, living on the railway platform would ever be able to enter the Parliament. I never imagined that I would get so much love from people," he added.
PM Modi also referred to the contributions of former Prime Ministers and recalled the words of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru when India gained independence.
"The echoes of Pandit Nehru's "At the stroke of the midnight..." in this House will keep inspiring us. In this House itself, Atal ji had said, "Sarkarein aayegi-jaayegi, partiyan banegi-bigdegi, lekin ye desh rehna chahiye. This echoes even to this day," he said.
The Prime Minister recalled the contribution of those who dealt with terror attack on the Parliament in 2001.
"There was a terror attack (on the Parliament). This was not an attack on a building. In a way, it was an attack on the mother of democracy, on our living soul."
"The country can never forget that incident. I also bow before those who took bullets to their chest to protect the Parliament and all its members, while fighting the terrorists..."
The Prime Minister spoke about the work done by the parliamentarians during the COVID-19 crisis.
"Many MPs attended the session despite health issues. During the COVID-19 crisis, our MPs attended the proceedings of both of the Houses and performed their duties...With the feeling that India's growth journey should not be impacted, all the members considered this House as an important part of their duty."
"After independence, many critics thought about whether India would remain united or not but we proved all of them wrong... People's trust in the Parliament remain intact."
The Prime Minister spoke about the success of the G20 Summit held in the national capital earlier this month and the Africa Union joining as a full member of the forum.
"India will be proud that when it was the president (of the G20), the African Union became its member. I cannot forget the emotional moment when the announcement was made, African Union President said that perhaps he will break down while speaking,” the Prime Minister said.
“You can imagine the fortune India had, to fulfill such a huge hopes and expectations...It is India's strength that it (unanimous Declaration) became possible,” he said.
The Prime Minister also referred to the proposed P20 summit and told Speaker Om Birla that it will have full support of the government.
“Under your chairmanship the P20 - Summit of G20 Parliament Speakers - you announced, will have our full support," he added.
