Stock Market Today: BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty rise on strong global cues; Exide Industries, CRISIL shares gain

Stock Market Today: On account of strong global sentiments, the Indian indices opened on the higher side in the opening bell trade session on Tuesday.

Stock Market Today: On account of strong global sentiments, the Indian indices opened on the higher side in the opening bell trade session on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex rose 173 points and regained the psychological 37,000 levels after hitting 37,112 mark while the NSE Nifty gained 48 points and hit 10,940 levels. Bank Nifty index gained 70 points after trading at 21,142 mark.

Speaking on the current market scenario Prakash Pandey, MD & CEO at Plutus Advisors said, "Market is extremely volatile because of the beginning of August series. The volatility is expected to remain for next few trade sessions as well. But, one should keep the range of 10,900 to 11,200 in mind. Till NSE Nifty is trading in this range, any dip should be seen as a buying opportunity."

Shares of CRISIL, Exide Industries, JaiprakashAssociates, Vakrangee, Star Cement, Take Solution, Zensar Technologies, Voltas and Reliance Power were among the major gainers in the early morning trade session while shares of Omaxe, Natco Pharma, Persistent Systems, Deepak Fertilisers, IndusInd Bank, Shriram Transport Finance and IDBI Bank were among the major losers in the intraday trade session.

Auto stocks led the bull run on Dalal Street as the BSE Auto index shot up to the tune of 1.36 per cent in the early morning trade session. Auto major Hero MotoCorp share price surged 2.39 per cent, Exide Industries shares shot up 3.56 per cent, shares of Maruti Suzuki India went off 1.41 per cent, Tata Motors stocki price went up 1.37 per cent while Ashok Leyland share price rose around 1 per cent.

At the majuor Asian markets, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index skyrocketed 1.52 per cent, South Korean Kospi soarede 0.99 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 0.90 per cent while Shanghai index added 0.09 per cent.

At the Wall Street on Monday, Dow Jones index rose 0.89 per cent, Nasdaq shot up 1.47 per cent, SmallCap 2000 escalated 1.80 per cent while S&P 500 jumped 0.72 per cent.
