Thugs of Hindostan collection is something that no one, least of all Aamir Khan, would like to talk about. However, for Amitabh Bachchan this film, even though it has failed to live up to the hype, is his first Rs 100 cr club entry.
Till date Thugs of Hindostan collection has generated Rs 149.67 crore. What is significant, is that it is unlikely to go much farther. However, this is not what has put Amitabh Bachchan under the spotlight yet again.
In fact, it is not Amitabh Bachchan's role in a film or his moving exchanges on Kaun Banega Crorepati that has everyone talking about him, it is actually his splendid philanthropic gesture that is making waves, indicating thereby, that as far as Big B is concerned, movies will come and go, he himself, will remain in the news forever!

And what is this big ''giving'' gesture by Big B? Well, it will bring tears to your eyes. To bring relief to manual scavengers from the horrific nature of their duties, Amitabh Bachchan has opened his purse-strings in a generous manner.
The actor expressed his feelings in a letter to the Manual Scavengers Association (MSA) and the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He said that he wanted to do something to prevent manual scavengers from physically and manually going down the manholes and sewers.
On Sunday Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "At the NDTV Cleanathon 'Banega Swachh India', seeing the inhuman plight of the manual scavenger, I had committed to buy 50 machines for them. Today I fulfilled that promise! 25 small individual machines and one large truck machine gifted to BMC".
