India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 141.70 crores (1,41,70,25,654) in the previous 24 hours according to provisional statistics with 29,93,283 vaccine doses administered, according to a government release.

India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 141.70 crores (1,41,70,25,654) in the previous 24 hours according to provisional statistics with 29,93,283 vaccine doses administered, according to a government release. 

This was accomplished by a total of 1,50,57,142 sessions. The recovery of 7,141 patients in the last 24 hours brings the total number of recovered patients to 3,42,37,495 (since the start of the epidemic). As a result, India's recovery rate has reached 98.40 percent, its highest level since March 2020, this release claimed.

India saw the highest single-day rise of Omicron infections with 156 fresh cases, taking the total tally of such cases to 578, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday as per PTI reported.
 
The 578 cases have been detected across 19 states and UTs with Delhi recording the maximum number of 142 cases followed by Maharashtra at 141, Kerala 57, Gujarat 49, Rajasthan 43, and Telangana 41.

The Narendra Modi Government on Monday announced the registration process for the Covid-19 vaccination for children, according to which, children in the age group of 15-18 years will be able to register on the Co-WIN app from January 1. 

The children will be required to submit 'student id cards' for the registration process for Covid vaccination as many students may not have Aadhaar or other government-issued identity cards. The interval between both doses will be 28 days, reported by IANS.
