Big blow for China! India may impose huge duty hike on these Chinese imports; Anil Singhvi explains booster shot for GNFC

Speaking on this exclusive report, Zee Business reporter Chetan Bhutani told Managing Editor Anil Singhvi today, "The DGTRA, which is a wing of Commerce and Industry Ministry has recommended the Narendra Modi government impose import duty on aniline chemical import from China. The import duty recommended is from $36.90 to $121.79 per ton and the final notification in this regard from the government will be made available in next one to one and half months."

On what prompted Indian government to act against this aniline chemical import from China, Bhutani said, "Actually, this was mainly demanded by the local players, especially the Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC). They had demanded from the Narendra Modi Government to impose import duty on aniline chemical imports from China as the imported product was damaging the business prospects of the domestic players."
The move is expected to give fresh push to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Vocal for Local' drive.
