Chris Wood tweaks India long-only equity portfolio; HDFC Life in, ICICI Prudential out

Jefferies' Christopher Wood -- or Chris Wood, as he is widely known -- has made certain changes to the brokerage's India long-only equity portfolio, such as the addition of HDFC Life with a weightage of six per cent and the removal of ICICI Prudential. The celebrated fund manager's model portfolio, launched in 2021, has the largest weight assigned to banking and non-banking financial stocks (42 per cent), followed by energy (20 per cent) and real estate (19 per cent).

Wood, Global Head of Equity Strategy at Jefferies, tweaked the weightage assigned to two real estate stocks in the portfolio, which has more than a dozen scrips spread across spaces such as energy, infrastructure, auto and logistics.

Godrej Properties now has a weight of five per cent in the India long-only portfolio, as against four per cent earlier. Macrotech Developers' weight has been reduced to five per cent from six per cent.
