According to Agarwal retail investors will likely dominate the market in future

Investors are likely to make good money over the next 10 years and planning for long term investment in new-age companies was required, Raamdeo Agrawal, Chairman and Co-Founder at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd tells Zee Business Managing Director  Anil Singhvi in a show 'Market Outlook 2022'.  

How the market may move in 2022? 

By looking at the cooperative earnings and the estimate and the outlook of the cooperate earnings, it appears that the bullish mood of the market is formed presently. The market is saying that GDP will likely be 8-9% in 2022-2023. If this happens then there will be a storm in the market.

Which stocks the investors should include in the portfolio? 

There is no shortage of stocks in the market. But sometimes there is a decrease in vibration. Stocks are available at reasonable prices in the big trends and new sectors. There are big opportunities in the new sector.  

Your opinion on ideas and money in the market for now? 

Yes, both ideas and money are in the market. As you can see this month's subscription to mutual funds has come in December. 3-4 million new customers have been added. 

Also, I think Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) will keep an eye on the Indian market till the budget and are expected to return soon. 

Will the trend of new investors still continue in the market? 

Due to covid-19, the KYC problem is solved now and people switched to digital mode. Digital onboarding helps in increasing new customers, wherein 30-35 years you had only 25-30 million customers, and due to digital onboarding, this number reached 80 million in 15 months. In my opinion, if there are 800 million bank accounts then at least 200-250 million Demat accounts will be there and this journey will be achieved in 2-3 years if the market performs well. This will change the character of the market.  

According to Raamdeo Agrawal retail investors will likely domination the market in future.
