Pankaj Tibrewal said that the market will be volatile for the whole year and only a few selected sectors will likely show good growth.
Market Expert and Senior Executive Vice President (Sr. EVP) of Kotak Mutual Fund Pankaj Tibrewal said that the market will be volatile for the whole year and only a few selected sectors will likely show good growth. Investors are suggested to focus on saving money instead of investing.
He said so while speaking with Zee Business Managing Director and Markey Guru Anil Singhvi in a popular Tv show 'Nivesh Ke Funde' where he expressed his view on the market volatility and said this year is a year with a little headwind where risk will keep coming.
Talking about the market, Tibrewal said, this year is a tough year for the market and must be navigated carefully. It has been advised to move forward with thinking towards capital protection.

This year's return should not be extrapolated from the last 2 years, said market expert, if we look at history, continuous 6 years' market gives a positive return but the 7th year does not give a positive return. If this happens this time then history will be created.
He said a number of selected sectors will participate in the market, this year. If the investors are in those sectors then it will be beneficial otherwise this year will be heavy for all.
According to Senior EVP, valuations are now approaching the long-term averages after the fall, at a PE of 19-19.5 times, and whenever the market comes below it, the market becomes attractive.
He suggested to the investors that whenever they invest this whole year, do not do it for the near term ie., 2-3-6 months instead invest thoughtfully for 2-3-5 years.
