Stock Market Holiday on Monday, January 22: Domestic stock markets will remain shut on Monday on the occasion of Ram Temple's inauguration in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Stock Market Holiday on Monday, January 22: Domestic stock markets will remain shut on Monday on the occasion of Ram Temple's inauguration in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Due to a public holiday in Maharashtra state, NSE and BSE are closed on January 22 and will resume trading on Tuesday, January 23.
"In partial modification to Exchange circular reference no. 59917 dated December 26,2023, the Exchange hereby notifies Monday, January 22, 2024, as a trading holiday on account of public holiday declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, vide RBI press release 2023-2024/1716 dated January 19, 2024." said the stock exchange NSE in a circular.
Apart from that, there will be no transactions and settlements in Government securities (primary and secondary), foreign exchange, money markets and Rupee Interest Rate Derivatives on January 22, 2024 (Monday), according to the official release of RBI.

"Settlement of all outstanding transactions will accordingly get postponed to the next working day i.e., January 23, 2024 (Tuesday)," the RBI added.
The country’s financial markets will remain closed for an additional 14 days, excluding weekends, in 2024 on account of festivals and other holidays, according to the exchanges.
The next market holiday on Dalal Street is on January 26 for the occasion of the country's Republic Day.
