Stock Markets Today: Opening BELL - BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty open almost flat; Titan, Sun Pharma among top 5 gainers
The stocks markets were trading almost flat, minutes after opening on Wednesday after closing almost flat on Tuesday. Though both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were trading with a positive bias, the gains were only marginal. The 30-share Sensex was trading at 50,686.66, gaining by almost 49 points, Nifty 50 was trading at 15,216.35, up almost 8 points around this time.
In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 21 stocks were trading in the green in the early morning trade while the remaining 9 were trading in the red. The 5 top gainers on Wednesday in the early trade were Titan, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen and Toubro and Bajaj Finserv while the top losers were Powergrid, ICICI Bank, HCL Technologies, Nestle India and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Meanwhile, Titan, Grasim Industries, SBI Life, Mahindra & Mahindra and Cipla were among the top 5 gainers on Nifty Fifty on Wednesday in the opening trade. The top losers were JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, Powergrid, and ICICI Bank.
Meanwhile, the Dollar continued to show weakness against the Indian Rupee on Wednesday. At around 9:40 am USDINR futures were trading at 72.8250 on the BSE against the USD, down almost 0.2 per cent.
The stock markets on Tuesday ended the day almost flat. While the BSE Sensex closed the day with negative bias at 50,637.53, down by over 14 points, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 was trading 15,208.45, up by almost 11 points at the end of the trading session.
Among key indices, Nifty Bank was trading on the red, going down by almost 0.3 per cent around this time at 34,554.55. Nifty Metal was down 1.7 per cent at 5012. 55. Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT were trading in the green in the early morning trade.
