Stocks to buy today, October 21: The S&P 500 lost 29.38 points, or 0.80 per cent, to end at 3,665.78 points, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 65.664 points, or 0.61 per cent, to 10,614.844.

Stocks to buy today, October 21: Stock market is likely to have a muted start on Friday as SGX Nifty - which is traded on the Singapore stock exchange - traded 11 points, or 0.06 per cent, lower at 17,509 in the early trade. Most of the Asian-Pacific markets too opened in the red today. While Japan's Nikkei 225 was down by over 53.81 points or 0.20 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi fell over 7 points or 0.32 per cent to trade at 2212 in the early trade. The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong too traded in red and was down by over 86 points or 0.53 per cent.

US stocks closed lower on Thursday. The S&P 500 lost 29.38 points, or 0.80 per cent, to end at 3,665.78 points, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 65.664 points, or 0.61 per cent, to 10,614.844. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 92.22 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 30,333.59.
