Stocks to buy today, October 4: The Dow Jones Industrial Average, or simply the Dow, settled 2.66% higher at 29,490 and S&P 500 advanced by 2.59% during Monday's session. Similarly, Nasdaq Composite ended in green after gaining 2.3%.

Stocks to buy today, October 4: Stock market on October 4 is likely to open in green as SGX Nifty - which is traded on the Singapore stock exchange - gained over 240 points or around 1.43% early morning. Asian markets are also trading higher today morning, hinting at a positive start for BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50. While Japan's Nikkei 225 was up by over 2.19% in early trade, Korea Composite Stock Price Index or KOSPI Index gained over 2%. At the same time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, or simply the Dow, settled 2.66% higher at 29,490 and S&P 500 advanced by 2.59% during Monday's session. Similarly, Nasdaq Composite ended in green after gaining 2.3%.

Earlier on Monday, key stock indices Sensex and Nifty declined over 1% at close due to heavy selling in banking, auto and FMCG shares amid weak global market trends and continued foreign fund outflows. Reversing its previous session's gains, benchmark BSE Sensex tumbled 638.11 points or 1.11% to settle at 56,788.81. The broader NSE Nifty 50 fell by 207 points or 1.21% to end at 16,887.35 as 42 of its constituents declined.
