Maharashtra Day holiday: Is trading in gold, silver and other commodities unavailable the entire day on May 1 — Maharashtra Day. Not really. Trading on MCX will remain unavailable in the morning session on Monday, May 1 on account of the Maharashtra day holiday, but will resume in the evening session.

Simply put, after the closing of market hours on Friday, trading on MCX will be available next at 5:00 pm on May 1 — the day the bourse is shut for the morning session for Maharashtra day.
