Gold rate today (April 26, 2023): Yellow metal in the domestic market on Wednesday traded under pressure and hovered around Rs 60,000.

Last seen, on MCX, gold futures (June 5) was down by Rs 89 or 0.15 per cent to Rs 60,172 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, Silver futures (May 5) was up but at Rs 90 or 0.12 per cent at Rs 74,353.

In the international market, COMEX gold traded in green at $2004.9 per ounce.

Spot gold traded flat in the international market and stood at $1,995.4 per ounce which was 0.12 per cent on the downside.

What analyst suggest?

"Gold traded steady overnight after remaining lackluster in yesterday's trade driven by concerns of US slowdown as banking sector results along with consumer sentiments numbers led to buying at lower levels. However for a major reversal upside above $2000 in Spot traders could await the US GDP numbers and PCE Index numbers due later in the week. Overall any reading below 2 per cent for Q1 GDP could only lead to upside moves in the precious metals complex," said Neha Qureshi, Senior Technical & Derivative Research Analyst, Anand Rathi Commodities & Currencies.

She added, however, the crucial Fed meeting next week could keep the Gold prices volatile from a short-term perspective.

Qureshi suggests selling gold June futures on rise at 60,250, keeping a stop loss of Rs 60,450 and a target price of Rs 59,950. For the Silver May contract, she suggests selling on rise at Rs 75,000, with a stop loss of Rs 76,000 and a target of Rs 73,000.
