HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Securities: Stocks to watch out for today
Stocks to watch: Bajaj Finance, Can Fin Homes, Hathway Cable, Happiest Minds Technologies, ICICI Prudential, TCI Express, Tata Elxsi, and L&T Technology, among others, will announce their respective results for the second quarter (Q2FY24) on Tuesday (October 17).
Stocks to watch: At around 8:13 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 72.15 points, or 0.37 per cent, higher at 19,805, suggesting a flat-to-positive opening of the market.
Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended in the red for the third straight session on Monday (October 16), dragged by pharma, realty, FMCG, and IT stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex ended 116 points, or 0.17 per cent, lower at 66,166.93, while the NSE Nifty settled 19.3 points, or 0.1 per cent, lower at 19,732.

HDFC Bank: Shares of the country’s leading lender will be in focus after its quarterly numbers were released after market hours on Monday. The bank reported a 51 per cent YoY increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 16,811.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30. This was the first earnings release after the banking major’s merger with erstwhile HDFC Ltd.
Kirloskar Electric Company: The company, in a regulatory filing, informed that its management has declared a lockout at the company’s unit no. 15, situated at Bhudihal, Nelamangala taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, with effect from October 16, 2023.
ICICI Securities: Shares of the brokerage firm will gain traction after its Q2 numbers post-market hours on Monday. The company posted a 41 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September. Also, the company declared an interim dividend of Rs 12 per share.
Grasim Industries: Shares of the cement company will see traction today after the company’s board approved fundraising to the tune of Rs 4,000 crore through the issuance of equity shares through a rights issue.
Ceat: The tyre company will be in focus after the company released its quarterly numbers on Monday. The company’s consolidated net profit for the September quarter expanded to Rs 208 crore versus Rs 7.8 crore in the same quarter last year.
Jio Financial Services: Shares of the newly-listed entity will be in focus after its financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2023. The company’s consolidated net profit increased to Rs 668 crore in the Q2 quarter as against Rs 332 crore in the March ended quarter.
Cyient: Shares of the IT services and consulting firm will be in focus after profit at the company during the Q2 period doubled to Rs 15 crore aided by other income. Margins, however, declined sharply to 8.1 per cent during the period under review.
Coal India: Shares of the state-run coal entity will be in focus after the company on Monday provided an update on its supplies to thermal power plants during the first fortnight of October 2023, which shot up nearly 6 per cent to 23.5 million tonnes (MTs), showing good demand from the power sector.
KEC International: Shares of the RPG Group company will be watched after it secured orders worth Rs 1,315 crore across its various business verticals.
Selan Exploration: The company recorded a profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 9.4 crore against Rs 8.8 crore year-on-year (YoY). The revenue of the company stood at Rs 39 crore against Rs 33 crore YoY.
Bulk deals
Delta Corp: After the steep decline on the previous day, the shares of Delta Corp will be in focus today as institutional broker BofA Securities Europe SA and Societe Generale together sold 43,66,464 shares in the entity, according to bulk deals data on the NSE.
Board meetings
Maruti Suzuki: The company's board will meet today to consider and approve the issue of equity shares of the company to Suzuki Motor Corporation ('SMC') on a preferential basis.
Dhyaani Tile: Shares of the trading company will be in focus as the company, in its board meeting today, will consider a bonus issue.
