ONGC Dividend 2023 Record date 2023: ONGC, a Maharatna company, will soon pay 10 per cent dividend to its shareholders. According to an exchange filing, the board of ONGC has fixed the ex-date, record and dividend payment date.
A dividend is usually paid in cash by a company to its investors from its earnings. It is calculated on the nominal value of each share.
In the case of ONGC, the face value of each equity share is Rs 5. Hence, the 10 per cent dividend means that the state-run company will pay Rs 0.50 dividend per share to its shareholders.

ONGC informed its shareholders through exchanges that the board has fixed the ex-date, record date and payment date of the dividend.
ONGC Dividend 2023 Ex-Date, Record Date
According to details available on NSE, ONGC dividend ex-date is August 18. An ex-date is a day when an equity share trades without the benefit of the next scheduled corporate action.
ONGC dividend record is also August 18, according to NSE. "Friday, the 18th August 2023 has been fixed as 'Record Date' for determining the eligibility of members for payment of Final Dividend of Rs 0.50 per share of Rs 5 each (@ 10%) for the FY’23," ONGC said in an exchange filing dated August 5.
Since the implementation of the T+1 settlement cycle earlier this year, the ex-date and the record date for all the corporate actions like dividends, splits and others are on the same day.
The dividend, if approved at the AGM, will be paid to the members within the stipulated period of 30 days from the date of declaration, the filing added.
ONGC Dividend History
ONGC's dividend yield is 6.31 per cent per share. The company in February this year paid Rs 4 interim dividend per share. In November 2022, the state-owned company paid Rs 6.75 interim dividend. In August and February same year, it paid a Rs 3.25 dividend and a Rs 1.75 interim dividend.
In 2021, ONGC which is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in India, paid Rs 9.10 dividend. In 2020, it paid a Rs 5 dividend.
ONGC comes under the ownership of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It contributes around 71 per cent to domestic production.
