Stock Market Holiday on Monday, Stock Market Holiday today, Stock Market Holiday on Monday, 22 Jan 2024: Stock Market Holiday on Monday, January 22: The domestic financial markets will remain shut on Monday, January 22, on account of Ram Temple's inauguration in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Since a public holiday has been declared in Maharashtra, the NSE and BSE will also remain closed on January 22. Trading will resume on Tuesday, January 23.

"In partial modification to Exchange circular reference no. 59917 dated December 26, 2023, the Exchange hereby notifies Monday, January 22, 2024, as a trading holiday on account of a public holiday declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, vide RBI press release 2023-2024/1716 dated January 19, 2024, NSE said in a circular.

In addition, there will be no transactions or settlements in government securities (primary and secondary), foreign exchange, money markets, or rupee interest rate derivatives on January 22, 2024 (Monday), according to the official release of the RBI.

"Settlement of all outstanding transactions will accordingly get postponed to the next working day, i.e., January 23, 2024 (Tuesday)," the RBI added. The country’s financial markets will remain closed for an additional 14 days, excluding weekends, in 2024 on account of festivals and other holidays, according to the exchanges.
