Stock Market Open on Holi 8th March 2023: Many investors are still confused as to whether the market will be closed on March 8 on the occasion of Holi, the national holiday in the country.

The confusion is mainly because of the way the festival is observed in India. While some regions celebrate it on March 7, others play with colours on March 8.

However, there are only two holidays in the month of March for stock markets. Out of the two, one was today on March 7 for Holi. Therefore, the stock market will resume tomorrow - March 8 as the NSE and BSE exchanges were formally closed today.

The next stock market holiday is scheduled for March 30 for Ram Navami festival celebration.

There was no trading in the equity segment, equity derivative, and SLB segments today, as per the list of stock market holidays for 2023, which is published on the official BSE website.

According to the March 2023 stock market holiday schedule, trading in the currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives segments was also on hold today.

However, in the commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments, trading was closed during the morning session (from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) but opened during the evening session today.

Meanwhile, there will be three stock market holidays in April 2023 on the 4th, the 7th, and the 14th. On April 4, 2023 (Mahavir Jayanti), April 7, 2023 (Good Friday) and April 14, 2023 (Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti), trading will be closed on BSE and NSE.
