Bank holidays in July 2023: Branches of most commercial banks, both public and private, will remain closed for an additional eight days in July on account of essential days. Hence, banks will remain closed for a total of 14 days this month, inclusive of the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.
RBI classifies bank holidays into three categories: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, real-time gross settlement holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
