Bank Holiday on Holi: Private and public sector banks are closed on March 7 and 8 on account of Holi in some states, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) bank holiday list. Notably, bank holidays differ depending on the state. In few states or cities, banks will remain closed on March 9 as well. In total, banks will remain closed for as many as 12 days in the month of March.

There are two categories of bank holidays: national holidays and government holidays.
