Janmashtami 2023 bank holiday, Bank holiday on September 7: Branches of certain commercial banks, public as well as private, will remain shut on Thursday, September 7, for the Janmashtami holiday.

Janmashtami bank holiday 2023 on September 7: City-wise full list

Banks will remain shut in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad (Telangana), Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar on Thursday, September 7, in observance of Janmashtami (Shravan Vd-8) and Shri Krishna Ashtami.

RBI classifies bank holidays into three categories: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Both public and private banks will remain closed for 18 days in September, including the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and Sundays.
