Banks will remain shut in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad (Telangana), Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar on Thursday, September 7, in observance of Janmashtami (Shravan Vd-8) and Shri Krishna Ashtami.
RBI classifies bank holidays into three categories: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
