How to check EPF account balance on epfindia.gov.in: In what will go down as a great New Year gift and as a big positive ending to the year blighted by corona pandemic for over 6 crore subscribers of Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), it has been revealed that it has credited 8.5 percent rate of interest for 2019-20 in Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account today. EPF subscribers had been waiting for quite some time for the final nod from the finance ministry.

Earlier, retirement fund body EPFO was widely expected to credit full 8.5% interest for 2019-2020 in EPF accounts in one go today, December 31. EPFO is learnt to have got clearance from the Finance Ministry for interest rate recommendation of 8.5% for FY20. Subscribers can check EPF account balance over the next few days.

In March this year, during the COVID-19 induced nationwide lockdown, the EPFO had approved 8.5% interest rate on EPF for 2019-20. Later, in September, the EPFO had decided to honour its commitment to provide 8.5% rate of interest for the last fiscal.

You can do it using 1) Umang app, 2) through the EPFO portal - www.epfindia.gov.in, 3) sending an SMS to 7738299899 and 4) giving a missed call on 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number.
