AIS for Taxpayer: The Income Tax Department has launched a Mobile app to facilitate taxpayers to view their information as available in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) / Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS). The ‘AIS for Taxpayer’ is a free app provided by the Income Tax Department. This app is available on Google Play & App Store and is aimed to provide a comprehensive view of the AIS/TIS to the taxpayer which displays the information collected from various sources pertaining to the taxpayer.
AIS for Taxpayer: What documents can be checked on IT app
Taxpayers can use the mobile app to view information related to TDS/TCS, interest, dividends, share transactions, tax payments, Income Tax refunds, and Other Information (GST Data, Foreign Remittances, etc.) as available in AIS/TIS. The taxpayer also has the option and the facility to provide feedback on the information displayed in the app.
AIS for Taxpayer: How to access the app
Taxpayers who want to use the app need to register on the app by entering their PAN number, authenticate with the OTP sent on their mobile number and e-mail registered on the e-filing portal. Then taxpayer can set a PIN of 4 digits to access the mobile app.

“This is another initiative of the Income Tax Department in the area of providing enhanced taxpayer services facilitating ease of compliance,” it added.
AIS for Taxpayer: Objectives
• Display complete information to the taxpayer with a facility to capture online feedback
• Promote voluntary compliance and enable seamless prefilling of return
• Deter non-compliance.
Income Tax Return filing last date
The last date to fill Income Tax Return (ITR) is July 31. The assessment year 2022-2023 will start on April 1. In the past, the government has extended ITR filing due dates for various reasons.
This year the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the new ITR forms for AY 2023-24 more than a month in advance.
