Mutual Fund AUM increased by 3.74% MoM to Rs 31.64 Lakh cr

AUM of the mutual fund industry increased by 3.74% MoM (Rs 1.13 Lk cr) to Rs 31.64 Lakh cr in Feb 2021. On YoY basis, the total AUM of Mutual Fund increased by 16.2%. Average AUM (AAUM) of the Mutual Fund industry increased by 1.4% MoM. On YoY basis, the Total AAUM increased by 14.2%. In Feb 2021 net inflow from the industry was at Rs 4090 cr as against net outflow of Rs 35587 cr in Jan 2021.

AUM of Income/Debt funds marginally increased by 0.03% MoM basis; this category witnessed net inflow of Rs 1551 cr in Feb 2021. AUM of Liquid funds increased by 5.4% MoM: Reuters

Income/Debt Oriented Schemes :

AUM of Income/Debt funds marginally increased by 0.03% MoM basis; this category witnessed net inflow of Rs 1551 cr in Feb 2021. AUM of Liquid funds increased by 5.4% MoM; this category witnessed net inflow of Rs 17302 Cr; while AUM of Gilt Fund decreased by 9.7% MoM. Further it registered a net outflow of Rs.1,645 Cr in Feb 2021. Funds mobilized from 3 newly launched Open-ended schemes (Short Duration Fund, Banking and PSU Fund & Floater Fund) were to the tune of Rs 1434 cr.

Growth/Equity Oriented Schemes:

AUM of Equity Oriented Schemes increased by 7.8% MoM (Rs 71586 cr) to Rs. 9.87 Lk cr in Feb 2021. Further it registered net outflow of Rs 6889 cr as against net outflow of Rs 12194 cr in Jan 2020. AUM of Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap & ELSS increased by 6.94%, 10.35%, 10.8% & 7.4% respectively; these categories registered net outflow in Feb 2021.

Hybrid Schemes:

AUM of hybrid Schemes increased by 6.6% (Rs 20971 cr) to Rs. 3.38 Lakh cr in Feb 2021. Further its registered net inflow of Rs 4703 cr as against inflow of Rs 2142 cr in Jan 2021. AUM of Arbitrage Fund increased by 7.2% in Feb 2021. Further its registered net inflow of Rs 5033 cr. Funds mobilized from 1 newly launched Open-ended schemes (Balanced Advantage Fund) were to the tune of Rs 369 cr.

Other Schemes:

AUM of Gold ETF decreased by 2.62% MoM ; further its registered net inflow of Rs 491 cr.
AUM of Other ETFs increased by 6.7% MoM ; further its registered net inflow of Rs 1949 cr.
AUM of FOF Investing Overseas increased by 8.8% MoM and registered net inflow of Rs 969 cr.
Funds mobilized from 4 newly launched Open-ended schemes (Index Fund & FOF ) were to the tune of Rs 317 cr

Equity Investments by Mutual Funds and FIIs:

Domestic mutual funds were net equity sellers from the last 9 months. Mutual Funds were net equity sellers to an amount of Rs 16,306Cr in Feb 2021 as against net sellers of Rs 13032 cr in Jan 2021. FIIs were net Buyers in equities in Feb 2021. In Feb 2021 FIIs were net equity buyers for an amount of Rs 21960 cr as against net buyer of Rs 14512 cr in Jan 2021.
