SBI KYC Link Update Fraud Online: Online frauds occur time and again when an online transaction or a digital transaction is made. Often, fraudsters pretend to be representatives of the bank and send messages or call a customer for getting their KYC updated.

Here is where the danger lies. The State Bank of India (SBI) has recently issued an alert for its customers warning them of KYC fraud.

The largest public sector lender in the country has taken to Twitter, to warn its customers against KYC fraud. The tweet from the official Twitter handle of SBI said, "KYC fraud is real, and it has proliferated across the country. The fraudster sends a text message pretending to be a bank/company representative to get your personal details. Report such cybercrimes here: cybercrime.gov.in."

The SBI has also shared some security tips for its customers warning them against KYC fraud. It has asked its customers to beware before clicking on just any link. The SBI has also assured its customer by saying that the bank never sends links to update KYC. SBI has also strongly warned its customers to share one's mobile number and confidential data with anyone.
The SBI has advised its customers to report to the cybercrime branch of the government at cybercrime.gov.in in case of any KYC-related frauds against them.

An SBI customer must note that any document towards proof of identity and proof of address (either permanent or current) will be treated as a KYC document for the customer by the bank. The KYC documents in the case of individuals are as follows:
Passport
Voter's Identity Card
Driving Licence
Aadhaar Letter/Card
NREGA Card
PAN Card

In order to save one's hard-earned money from falling into fraudulent hands, an SBI customer must follow the safety tips mentioned above. In case of any cyber-related crime, the customer must waste no time to inform the crime to the cyber branch of the government at cybercrime.gov.in.
