7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: 3 pending installments of DA, DR of central government employees, pensioners to be restored from July
The government has finally decided to provide much needed- relief on DA to central government employees and pensioner.
These cental government employees have been eagerly waiting for their Dearness Allowance to be cleared since it was stopped in the wake of Covid 19 pandemic in the country.
DA DR relief
Providing big relief to the central government employees and retired pensioners, the government has decided to restore their three pending installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) from July. Source: PTI
Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur made the revelations
This was confirmed by the Minister of State (MoS) for Finance Anurag Thakur. Thakur in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on March 9 made the revelations. Source: Reuters
What Minister said?
"Three pending installment of Dearness Allowances of central government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners to be restored prospectively. The rates will be subsumed in the cumulative revised rates of DA," the minister said in the written reply. Source: PTI
Freezing of DA, DR
Earlier in the view of Covid 19 pandemic, the government has chosen to freeze the additional installments of DA for central government employees and DR for pensioners - due on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
Rs 37,000-crore saving
Thakur said that the decision to stop additional DA and DR allowed the government to save more than Rs 37,000 crore during this period.
