In a bid to capture a larger pie in India's booming e-commerce market, online retailers Amazon India and Flipkart have announced sale beginning next week across categories from smartphones to fashion to home and kitchen products, among others.

In the upcoming sale season, the country's two largest e-commerce firms are offering discounts and cashback offers on purchase of products via select bank credit and debit cards.

Amazon India will begin its online sale titled 'Amazon Great Indian Sale' at 12:00 am (midnight) on May 11 and will last till 11:59 pm on May 14.

"The Amazon Great Indian Sale, will have irresistible deals across a wide a range of products in categories including smartphones, fashion, home & kitchen, large appliances, sports and fitness among others," Amazon India said in a press release on Thursday.

During the 'Amazon Great Indian Sale', Amazon Prime Membership customers can get access to its exclusive deals and top deals 30 minutes before non-prime members.

Customers who want fast and easy check out on Amazon India they can opt for Amazon Pay balance option.

"Customers shopping during the Amazon Great Indian Sale, can look forward to big savings on some of the biggest brands such as Moto, OnePlus, Samsung, Sennheiser, Sony, Titan, Wrangler, Biba, Fastrack, American Tourister, Puma, Usha, Cello, Bajaj, Prestige, Wonderchef, Bombay Dyeing, BPL, Samsung, LG, Whirlpool to name a few," cited Amazon India in a statement.

If you are planning to do cashless transactions during the e-commerce company's upcoming sale then Amazon India has some good offers. For instance, If you do a purchase with Citibank credit and debit cards on Amazon India during the sale then you can get an additional cashback of 10% .

In addition, If you shop on Amazon India App during the sale then you can get 15% cashback offer by Citibank. Customers who shop on the Amazon India App for above Rs 500 during the event will be eligible to receive a code from Yatra.com for a Rs 1,000 discount on domestic hotels.

Coming to Flipkart's sale, in order to thank customers for its successful completion of 10 years, the e-commerce firm will start its sale titled 'The Big 10 Sale' from the midnight of May 14 to May 18.

Announcing the sale dates, Flipkart's chief executive officer Kalyan Krishnamurthy, said on Friday, “Flipkart’s 10 years have been all about the Indian customer and we’ve received an immense amount of love and support over the past decade. The Big 10 sale is our biggest by far after Big Billion Days and it’s our way of thanking customers for that overwhelming response."

The domestic online retailer will have offers across all categories during the sale from fashion to the latest smartphones, electronics, smart televisions, home decor and home appliances.

In the 'The Big 10 Sale', Flipkart has announced offers like chance to win international trips, gift vouchers, free shopping, 90% off on deals, cashback on PhonePe, among others.

The e-commerce firm has claimed to have widest product range and selection with 80 plus categories products in its upcoming sale.

"Customers can expect a stellar product line, new launches and exclusive brand partnerships across categories with some of the best deals on offer," cited Flipkart in a statement.

Additionally, Flipkart will have special offers for HDFC Bank's credit card customers who will get 10% discount on purchase of product during the sale.
